Terms and
conditions

Clear agreements, so we both know where we stand.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

1. Who we are

RNSDevs is an unregistered, non-commercial hobby project run by Nisse and Robbe, two young people from Belgium. We are not a company or a registered non-profit and we have no company number. We build free websites to gain experience and help people. You can reach us at hello@rnsdevs.com or @rnsdevs on Instagram.

The Dutch version of these terms is the original. If the two versions differ, the Dutch version prevails.

2. Definitions

  • RNSDevs, we, us: Nisse and Robbe, together behind the RNSDevs project.
  • Client, you: the person or organisation that requests a website from us and for whom we build a website.
  • Website: the website we design and build for you, including all pages, code, design and related files.
  • Content: everything you supply, such as texts, photos, videos, logos and product information.
  • Delivery: the moment the website is live on your hosting and we both consider the project complete.

3. When do these terms apply?

These terms apply to every request you send us, every website we build for you and all support we provide afterwards. By submitting the request form, or by confirming our collaboration in another way (for example by email, if we contacted you), you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to them.

Agreements that differ from these terms only apply if we have both confirmed them in writing (for example by email).

4. Free, with no hidden costs

  • Designing and building your website is completely free. You will never receive an invoice from us and we will never ask or require you to pay.
  • A request is not an order. We look at every request, but we may decline a new project at any time and for any reason. The same applies to requests for changes to an existing website. We always let you know whether we’ll take it on, but we don’t have to give a reason if we decline.
  • The only costs you have are for your own hosting and domain name (see section 6). You pay those directly to your provider, never to us.

5. How a project works

We do everything we can to make every project as good as possible. Whether your website is small or large, we put the same care into it.

  1. Request: you tell us what you need through the form.
  2. Introduction: we get in touch to discuss your wishes, your audience and the content.
  3. Design and build: we create a design and build the website, showing you our progress along the way.
  4. Feedback: you give us feedback and we adjust the website. We do reasonable rounds of feedback until we’re both happy.
  5. Delivery: we put the website live on your hosting, including the credits and the statistics script (see sections 8 and 9).
  6. Support: you can still come to us after delivery (see section 11).

Because we do this alongside school, we don’t commit to a fixed delivery date. We agree on a realistic timeline together and let you know if anything changes. During exam periods things may take a little longer.

If you don’t respond to our messages for more than two months, we may consider the project cancelled.

6. Hosting and domain name

A website needs web hosting and a domain name to be online. You purchase these yourself, in your name and at your own cost, from a provider of your choice. We’re happy to help you choose and set them up, but the contract with the provider is between you and that provider. You make sure your hosting and domain name stay paid and renewed.

To publish and maintain the website, we need access to your hosting. Many hosting providers let you add an extra person or team member to your account, with their own login. That way you never have to share your own password with us, and you can revoke our access yourself at any time.

For every hosting provider we recommend, we know for certain that you can add an extra team member. If you choose a different provider yourself, check first whether that’s possible there too, or ask us.

We only use our access for your website. We never store passwords for external hosting accounts in a database.

7. Ownership of the website

The website is jointly owned by you and RNSDevs.

What belongs to you:

  • The website runs on your hosting and your domain name, and is therefore also yours. You may use it for your own organisation, as long as you comply with these terms.
  • Your content (your texts, photos, logo and other materials) always remains entirely yours.

What belongs to RNSDevs:

  • We designed and built the website, and therefore remain co-owner of the code and the design.
  • We may reuse the code and design of your website for other projects, for example components, features or layouts.
  • We may show the website, screenshots, videos and a description of the project in our portfolio, on our social media and in other communication about RNSDevs. For this we also use the content shown on the website, such as your name and logo.

Because we work for free, showing our projects is the most important thing we get in return. By agreeing to these terms you give us permanent permission to do so. This means you cannot ask us to remove your project from our portfolio or social media. If something sensitive or personal is accidentally visible (for example an address or a photo of someone who doesn’t want to be shown), let us know and we’ll adjust that specific part.

You may not resell the code or design or present it as your own work (for example as a template or theme).

8. Footer credits

Every website we build always has credits in the footer (the bar at the bottom of every page). By default this is:

Powered by RNSDevs

The word “RNSDevs” is always a clickable link to https://rnsdevs.com.

You may translate or replace “Powered by” with one of these approved variants:

  • Powered by RNSDevs
  • Website by RNSDevs / Website door RNSDevs
  • Made by RNSDevs / Gemaakt door RNSDevs
  • Designed and built by RNSDevs / Ontworpen en gebouwd door RNSDevs
  • Developed by RNSDevs / Ontwikkeld door RNSDevs
  • A translation of one of these variants into your website’s language (for example “Site réalisé par RNSDevs”)

Want a different wording? Ask us and we’ll look at it together. These rules always apply to the credits:

  • They appear in the footer on every page of the website.
  • They are clearly readable: not hidden, not made invisible, not the same colour as the background and not smaller than the other small text in the footer.
  • The name “RNSDevs” is not changed and the link to rnsdevs.com keeps working.

Removing, hiding or changing the credits outside these rules is a breach of these terms.

9. Visitor statistics

We always place the RNSDevs statistics script on every website we build. It shows us how many visitors the website has, which pages are viewed and which websites visitors come from. This helps us learn what works and improve our websites.

The script is privacy-friendly: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your visitors’ browsers, keeps no IP addresses and respects the browser’s “Do Not Track” setting. That means you don’t need a cookie banner for it.

Want to see your website’s statistics yourself? Just ask and we’ll give you access to your website’s visitor statistics.

The script may not be removed, disabled or bypassed. For the statistics, we process data about your visitors on your behalf. Please mention in your website’s privacy policy that you use RNSDevs for anonymous visitor statistics. We’re happy to help you with the wording.

10. What we ask of you

  • You provide the content for the website in good time, and that content is accurate and complete.
  • You have the right to use that content (for example because you created it or hold a licence for it) and it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights, such as copyright, trademark or image rights.
  • You are responsible for what is on your website and how you use it, including after delivery.
  • Does your website collect personal data (for example through a contact form)? Then you are the data controller under the GDPR and you provide your own privacy policy.
  • You keep the credits (section 8) and the statistics script (section 9) on your website.

We don’t build websites with content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, misleading, fraudulent, violent, pornographic or harmful in any other way. This also applies to content you add after delivery.

11. Support after delivery

After delivery we’re happy to keep helping you, with small and large things alike: from changing a text or photo or fixing a bug to a new page, an extra feature or a bigger redesign. Just send us a message with what you need.

Because we do this for free and alongside school, we can’t guarantee a fixed response time. We plan larger changes together.

We do everything we can to keep RNSDevs going for a long time, but we can’t guarantee that RNSDevs will always exist. If we ever stop RNSDevs or can no longer look after your website, we will:

  • let you know in good time;
  • give you everything you need to have someone else continue working on your website.

12. Liability

We do our very best to build a good, secure and working website. But because we do this for free and as a hobby, we deliver the website “as is”, without any guarantee that it is error-free, always available or achieves a particular result (such as more customers or a higher position in Google).

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from the use of the website, such as lost income, loss of data, outages or security issues at your hosting provider, or problems caused by content you supplied. Please make regular backups of your website yourself, or ask your hosting provider to do so. This limitation does not apply to damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence.

You are liable for the content you supply or add later yourself. If someone holds us liable because your content infringes their rights, you are responsible for that.

13. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or problems beyond our control, such as outages at your hosting or domain provider, internet outages, illness or other circumstances we could not reasonably foresee.

14. Ending the collaboration

Both you and we can end the collaboration before delivery at any time, without costs or compensation. Just let us know. The code and design we’ve created up to that point remain ours and may not be used without the credits and the statistics script.

You can also stop using our support after delivery. The agreements on ownership, credits and visitor statistics continue to apply for as long as the website (or any part of our code or design) is online.

15. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the way we work changes. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If there are important changes that affect your website, we’ll let you know by email.

16. Invalid provisions

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the other parts continue to apply. We replace the invalid part with a rule that comes as close as possible to its original intent.

17. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If something goes wrong, we always look for a solution together first. Feel free to email us at hello@rnsdevs.com. If that doesn’t work, the Belgian courts have jurisdiction.
