1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Websites sometimes also use “local storage” (localStorage and sessionStorage), which works in a similar way. In this policy, “cookies” refers to all of these techniques together.
2. Which cookies does RNSDevs use?
rnsdevs.com sets no cookies: no analytics cookies, no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. We don’t follow you across other websites.
Your browser does keep two small, functional values in local storage. They are needed for the language suggestion to work properly, contain no personal data and are never sent to us:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
rns_lang_popup_dismissed | Remembers that you closed the language suggestion, so it doesn’t keep coming back. | localStorage | Until you clear it yourself |
rns_country | Remembers your country code (e.g. “BE”) during your visit, so it doesn’t have to be looked up again on every page. | sessionStorage | Until you close the tab |
Because these values are strictly necessary for a feature you use yourself, we don’t need to ask for consent. That’s why you won’t see a cookie banner on our site.
3. External services
The website loads a few components from other parties. They don’t set cookies on our pages, but they do technically see your IP address:
- Google Fonts provides the website’s fonts.
- ipapi.co looks up which country you’re visiting from, for the language suggestion. Once you’ve closed the suggestion, no further connection to ipapi.co is made.
- YouTube: videos on some portfolio pages use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Only when you play a video can YouTube use cookies or local storage, in line with Google’s cookie policy.
If you click through to Instagram or another external website, that website’s cookie policy applies there.
4. Managing or deleting cookies
You can always clear or block cookies and local storage yourself in your browser settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Clear browsing data”. The website keeps working afterwards; only the language suggestion may appear again.
5. Questions
